Places I would love to Visit …

This blog was originally ‘5 places I would love to visit’ but I couldn’t narrow it down to just 5!

I have already visited some amazing places, the world is just so beautiful I want to see it all!

Italy has always been the place I would love to see the most of and this year I eventually started by going to Rome! It met every expectation and I can’t wait to see more …

  1. Venice – Who wouldn’t love to do the canal-side dining
  2. Lake Garda – I mean this place just looks so beautiful
  3. Tuscany – Cheese and wine tasting? who wouldn’t want to visit here?!
  4. Florence – Browse the boutiques and taste the best Gelato!

I have also visited  a few other cities recently from Paris, Krakow and Budapest which have made me thirsty for more …

  1. Barcelona – The buildings looks so incredible
  2. Prague – I’ve heard such great things about this place and apparently the Christmas Market is one of the best
  3. Berlin – So much history in this place it would be a very interesting trip
  4. Amsterdam – This is fairly recent the more I see of this place, it looks so beautiful and I would totally have to visit the Anne Frank Museum!
  5. Bruges – In a few words … fairy-tale medieval town

Over the last 7year I have also enjoyed some amazing Carribean holidays, but like I said earlier there’s so much more to see!
Here’s a few I would love to visit if money was no object …

  1. Iceland – How amazing would it be to see the Northern Lights, take a Husky Ride and try out skiing
  2. Maldives – Who doesn’t want to walk down a pier and sleep on the water?!
  3. Mauritius – This place has been reccomended, Step away from the Carribean for a change
  4. Thailand – So many mixed reviews about here I need to decide for myself!
  5. St Lucia – I think this one speaks for itself!

So as you can see, one can dream! I’m hoping to tick at least a few of the city breaks off the list over the next year!

Christmas Advent Calendars 2017 …

I’m a sucker for a beauty advent calendar, when I bought my first one a couple of year ago I had to prove the worth of each product to my partner just to convince him how good value they are!

It usually takes me a good while to decide on one I want then I’m usually late in ordering and I get to open a few doors at once .. ha! You see, I’m not one of these who open all the doors at once… theres nothing more exciting then waking up each morning to find out what you’ve got??

LookFantasic have a beautiful one this year, such a unique design £79 (worth £300)

This one is the full 25days of goodies and contains 9 full size products and 16 samples! From the reviews this seems to be more skincare than makeup but don’t spoil it for yourself by peeking!

You can also save 20% when you subscribe to the LF beauty box (from £13pm) with ADVENTBB

Are you a Clarins lover? So this one is only 12days of goodies £60. Which again contains both makeup and skincare mainly around 30ml

Or how about a Selfridges one? This one is priced at £70 and is worth £250.

There are some great brands within this calendar for skincare and makeup including NYX, Beautyblender, Lord & Berry, Rodial, Caudalle and Molton Brown!

Have you seen any of The Body Shop calendars yet?? They have 3 and here they are…

1st is 24days of Beauty £45 (worth £88)

2nd is 25days of deluxe £65 (worth £116)

And lastly 25days of Ultimate Christmas £99 (worth £214)

As well as the skincare and accessories within these boxes they also turn into a trivia quiz for you to play Christmas Day after lunch! If you love The Body Shop shower gels/body butters or makeup removers these are a must for you!

My personal favourite is always YOUBeauty and at the moment this is on offer for £49.95 (worth £230)

I love The mixture of different products and brands I’m never disappointed! 24days worth of gorgeous over December including Nip+Fab, Morrocanoil, BareMinerals and ESPA!

Thank me later

How many YouTube tutorials have you watched and taught yourself how to do makeup? Can you still not crack that contour you have been trying for so long? How about a smoky eye, are you there yet … I know I’m not!

I was lucky enough to meet up with the ladies from ND Makeup Artists here in Newcastle! Heard of them? Well I hadn’t!

The studio is based in Newcastle City Centre, next to the Discovery Museum however they also travel to venues to cover weddings etc and work on sets (keep reading to find out more about this!) Whilst I was talking with Marie she let me into the secret of their hard work recently working on a new studio just over the road, the design sounds beautiful and will be opening early 2018 I can’t wait to see it!

Before I forget … are you still wondering what sets ND have worked on? Here’s a few …
MTV / Geordie Shore / Pixie Lott / Metrocentre fashion events as well as the Metrocentre TV Adverts

The Body Shop, October, Metro Centre …

Christmas is nearly here and The Body Shop have brought out Advent Calendars! I’m a huge fan of Beauty Advent Calendars and have purchased YOUbeauty ones the past 2year however I may need to try The Body Shop this year!

The Body Shop have 3 different advent calendars at £45, £65 & £99 which are actually a bargain as they are worth up to £214!

I along with other bloggers attended an event at The Body Shop to check out the new range of products. We were able to sample the use of spa products by a hand massage, gain understanding of the best products for our skin whilst having a facial and then test out the makeup by having a make over! We were also spoilt with 30% off purchases in store and a free personalised body butter …

Before my facial I had a moisture test on my skin which at current was 33% … it should be over 50% … As part of my facial the beautican used Vitamin E Cream Cleanser £7.50, Drops of Youth Essence Lotion £15 and Drops of Youth Cream £22.

I then took the moisture test again which came in at 45% so getting closer! I actually purchased the Drops of Youth Liquid Peel £18 and the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser which I’m hoping to go back for the moisture test after 1 month to see if it has improved, so watch this space!

I have never tried any of The Body Shop make up products so I was very excited for a makeover after my facial. I was very surprised with the foundation as it was a perfect match to blend into my neck as it is so pale, I went for a medium cover which was the Fresh Nude Foundation £15 perfect for all day at work.

I love The Body Shop gift sets for presents and I was so pleased to have the opportunity to try new products which I wouldn’t choose to try normally! What is your favourite product from The Body Shop??

John Lewis Beauty Retreat,  October, Newcastle, Eldon Sq

Are you like me and have no idea the Beauty Retreat exsists in John Lewis, Eldon Sq??? Well it’s actually been open 6year now, how crazy!
I was lucky enough to have been invited to a VIP event and treat like a princess. Along with other bloggers we were greeted by prosecco and nibbles, had the luxury of being pampered in the retreat as well as being made up by the makeup counters!

Starting in the Beauty Retreat we were invited upstairs via a lift to Clarins for a taster of a shoulder massage, we then headed back downstairs to preview the Liz Earle beauty room where we left our details to be contacted for a complimentary consultation! … Now if you read my blog you will know im a big fan of Liz Earle, so I’m super excited for this!

We then headed over to the Elemis beauty room for a facial which are usually priced £30 and I have to say are totally worth it after my taster! Around the room were candles which Elemis allow you to purchase and turn your bathroom into a spa, they have four scents which you have just got to have a smell! My favourite was Clarity …

I then moved across the hall to ESPA where they were again doing shoulder massages however these were a bit firmer! The beautican was so lovely and applied just the right amount of pressure. I’m looking forward to returning for a hot stone massage!

Now we felt all relaxed, I needed to wake up before driving home so we headed to the makeup counters.  Again if you read my blog you will already know I attended the Benefit event and since I always have my brows done by them. I have so many compliments that my friend just had to head over and try them out. She totally loved her brows which at the moment she does nothing with … I think I have converted her to Benefit Brows!

If you haven’t already, you have got to check out the Beauty Retreat! This is a perfect way of relaxing after a shopping trip or long day in the office. Go see what vouchers you can purchase for Christmas or Birthday presents, so much choice for great prices.

Turtle Bay in Middlesbrough…

Have you heard?? … Turtle Bay is now in Middlesbrough and I was lucky enough to be invited to the VIP preview night!!

Obviously if you follow me on social media you would have seen most of my photo’s already of the AMAZING food served at Turtle Bay!

How beautiful is the decor?! Totally gives off the Caribbean vibe and I love the social seating! Carrying on with the Caribbean theme, the music is total reggae and there’s 40 speciality rums served behind the bar as well as 2-4-1 cocktails until 7pm and again from 10pm! Now if you’ve read my travel post you will know that the Caribbean is my favourite place to travel to in the summer so I’m not a stranger to the cocktails and rum! When I told Sean about the 40 speciality rums he has jumped all over planning a date night and since I was driving the night of the VIP launch I would love to go back and try the cocktails!

Anyway, moving onto the food!

On the night we were served two sharing platters… Just Jerk – Marinated Jerk wings, glazed pork ribs, Jerk beef riblets, jamaican beef patties, sweetcorn fritters and spiced popcorn.  Vital Veggie – sweetcorn fritters, crispy okra, jerk pit grilled mushroom and peppers, pepper roti, bara flat bread, spiced curried chickpea and cucumber chutney.

The meat on the platters was out of this world! completely melted in the mouth and fell off the bone!

I’m not a veggie in the slightest so I wouldn’t have ordered the veggie platter but I have to say it was just as good! The okra was my personal fav!

We were then served two curries … Beef Cheek and Sweet Potato. These were both beautiful and not too much of a kick, just nice to suit most people’s spice levels! My fav as you can guess was the Beef Cheek, the beef was just incredible I can’t even put into words!

We were then greeted with the famous Jamaican Jerk chicken and the Slow Braised beef. Honestly this is so hard to explain how amazing the meat here is … it is INCREDIBLE!!!  Head over to Turtle Bay you won’t regret it!

Now to be honest, I was stuffed when the desserts were placed on the table but when I seen the banana and toffee cheesecake I just couldn’t resist! There were also Passion pie, rum cake and brownie as well as rum sauce and grilled pineapple. Although the cheesecake was my fav Mother Hermits fav was the Passion Pie!
Have you tried Turtle Bay?? Did you love it as much as me??

That Lame Company Haul…

Welcome to my first haul! I first noticed the That Lame Company when another blogger shared their blogger bundle haul, I had to check them out on Twitter and I wasn’t disappointed!

That Lame Company is all about the stationary and what better way to celebrate National Stationary week last week than treating myself to a bundle!

I decided to go for the Lucky Dip price at £15 (you can choose from different size bundles for different price ranges)

Within my bundle I received a ‘Weekly Planner’ deskplam £6.49, ‘Things I need to do’ Notepad £4.49, ‘I should have done this stuff yesterday’ £5.99, ‘Notes and Dreams’ Notepad £5.49

At a total of £22.46 that’s already worth my £15 spent on the bundle! However it doesn’t stop there …

I also received 3 x prints which are priced at £2.49 to purchase each, as well as an A6 ‘Important Notes’ pad £3.50 … This bundle is now totally worth the price!

My favourite piece in the bundle I have to say is one of the prints which I loved so much I decided to frame it!

I have to say Chloe at That Lame Company has all the special touches when it came to the packaging and delivery of my bundle, how amazing is this personal touch within my parcel!

Have you tried That Lame Company?

March Favourites …

It’s that time again where you find out my monthly favourites! To be honest, March has been quite an exciting month for me trying out new products it was hard for me to narrow down my favourites!

Obviously I managed though so here goes …

Firstly, I love my Estee Lauder double wear foundation but I prefer that for nights out or long days where I need good full coverage so I’m always on the look out for cheaper day to day options. I may have just found my perfect match with the Rimmel Lasting Finish, I’m quite pale so this is in the shade Ivory and it’s such a good match! If you haven’t tried this already you totally should, the coverage is amazing and the price makes it so much better!

Since having my hair cut shorter in March I fancied having a bit more of a boost so thought as I use the Alberta Balsam shampoo and conditioner I would try the volume boost spray. Although this doesn’t work like magic, you still need a good blow dry … it smells beautiful!

Who hasn’t tried the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer??? Me! until March … so many bloggers I follow and vloggers I watch use this and eventually headed out to buy it. I can totally understand what the hype is about, cheap as chips and a lush product for brightening! I use this under my eyes around the creases of my nose and down the bridge of my nose … I don’t really use this one on blemishes I prefer more of a full coverage to hide those pesky things!

Last but not least, Real Technique Flawless Base Set … I’m also behind the times with these brushes! I’m sure I don’t need to go into much detail with these as so many people rave about them, all I will say is they are totally worth it!

What have you been loving in March??

What is the Lipstick??

Okay, I had to write this post based on how many people were asking what it is and so many great comments on how long lasting it is!

What is the lipstick in this picture??

I’ve recently discovered a new lip crayon which was totally unintentional! I bought a few products in boots and when I got to the till the cashier just so happened to tell me I was actually able to choose a free lip crayon based on what i had already bought! … Bonus and very nice of her to let me know!

So there I was off running around the store, concious I was holding up the queue at the till when I found the section I was looking for. I had a quick skim over the colours and chose the first one that caught my eye!

So my new found favourite is the Sleek Power Plump Lip Crayon and this one is in shade Berry Burst, you can pick this up for just £5.50!

This gorgeous tingling lip crayon literally goes on effortlessly! Tje consistency is so creamy and it’s definitely a long-lasting magical formula which gives a smoith finish, I wore this all day at work and only needed to re-apply once!

It comes in 6 shades, go check them out!

Have you tried any Sleek products??

February Favourites!

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation – RRP £31

This isn’t a new foundation I’ve tried but it is a new bottle I bought in Feb which was well overdue! This is my all-time favourite foundation and I know is many others too. As this is a full coverage and I’m not a massive full make-up everyday type of girl, I tend to only wear this foundation on nights out or special occasions!

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Concealer – RRP £20

So unlike the foundation, this is a new one for me! Concealer is never something I’ve really bothered with but when there’s an offer on who can resist???

I’ve been getting into the habit of using this throughout February and have to say I am actually loving it. I have been applying this under my eyes, around my nose creases and any blemishes and it conceals really well! It lasts all day and this shade is perfect for me I can wear with any foundation not just my double wear.

Although I do love this one, I’m on the lookout for a slightly cheaper one to compare if the price is really worth it?!

Sanctuary Foaming Micellar Cleansing Water – RRP £8 (200ml)

Such a great makeup remover and vegan friendly!

This beauty was in my GlossyBox last month and as I usually use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and love it, I decided to give this one a go.

I love that is foams up as it makes is less likely to spill the product and you tend to use a lot less than the water based ones! Massive plus is that my skin instantly felt clean and soft!

Essence Light Up Your Face Luminizer Palette – RRP £3

Okay now I actually love this palette but if you like strong, bold makeup you might want to skip this part!

This palette contains three highlighters which you can use individually or in combination –

Nude highlighter – subtle satin sheer powder perfect for everyday

Rose highlighter – shimmering powder perfect for special occasions

Golden beige highlighter – pearly powder adding a warm finish

These look beautiful on the cheek bones as individual and combination however they are very subtle and I did find that the product didn’t attached to my brush very well so I had to use quite a lot! Perfect for a subtle look at work!!

BareMinerals Stroke of Light Eye Brightener – RRP £22

Confession time … this isn’t a Feb fav as I have had this since August and have been using regular since, I have now ran out!! As I hadn’t used and BareMinerals products before, I decided to treat myself to the starter collection on my flight home from the Dominican Republic and have been loving this product.

It is so beautiful and immediately brightens the eye area, perfect for those pesky dark circles! I would defiantly recommend spending the money on this product, it lasts so well and with the wand it is easy to apply.

Benefit High Beam highlighter – RRP £21.50

This one is currently on offer in Debenhams for £19.35, go grab it ladies!

If you follow my social media you will already know that I have been working on getting my brows into the perfect shape and loving using new products at the moment. This Benefit highlighter is absolutely perfect for under the brow!

I only have a tester at the moment but will defiantly be purchasing full size just for my brows haha!

Ted Baker Hot Pink Lipstick!

Unfortunately this lipstick was out of the Boots Christmas star gift and I can’t find where to buy it anywhere.

This one has been a fav the last couple of weeks. The colour is so beautiful and applies really well onto the lips, the consistency is creamy and actually helps to keep the lips moisturised!
